This cave with its rock incisions dates back to the superior Palaeolithic age. Here the "bos primigenius" was found about 6.000 years ago until XVIII.
Raganello's Canyon is the most important entrance to the Pollino national Park. It is situated in a valley filled with natural environmental resources and a mountain stream.
In Papasidero one finds the Maria S.S. di Costantinopoli medieval church. It is one of the rare religious monuments situated in this wonderful landscape. Embedded in "Lao's gole" one also finds an important fresco representing our Lady with and a baby and a wooden statue dating back to the XVII century.

Rivello is well known for its Saint Antonio Convent (XVI cen.). This old town is full of old churches, sixteenth century frescos and ancient workshops, and the "Longobardo Motta" hill overlooking the whole landscape. |

Visiting Albanian villages: San Costantino Albanese: At its main church Greek rite is still celebrated today. The Saint Maria della Stella's sanctuary (XVI cen.) is also found here. San Paolo Albanese: This is the smallest village of Basilicata that has kept the Albanian origin and Greek-Byzantine rite. One can also visit the "Arberesche" cultural museum. |

The San Lorenzo Carthusian was founded in the XIII century. It is gives you the opportunity to experience the live that the Benedettini monks lived in a 2 hour tour. This tour involves admiring religious and meditation places like a cloister, a bookshop with its beautiful Vietri's pottery floor, the chapels with its marble and plaster, and the monk cells to understand and appreciate their religious live as they lived it. Continuing on this tour one is also able to see the cloistered garden, wide kitchen, wine cellers with huge barrels, laundries and outside farming. The Western Lucania archaeological museum displays in return all the archaeological findings that were found during excavations next to Sala Consilina and the Padula necropolis. |

The Pertosa Grottos is a natural cave that dates back around 35 million years ago. It is a result of the "carsici" phenomena. It is an unusual trip which includes a 200 metres boat trip on a small lake while enjoying the beautiful splendour of the Negro looking "carsiche" opening with its myriad of stalactites and stalagmites. |

Castlemezzano was named one of the 37 most beautiful villages in Italy. It is embedded between spires and peaks in front the Pietrapertosa. It is the highest village in Basilicata and is bordered by magnificent unusual huge peak rocks. |
